Important Safeguards for Candle Pots

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
- Read all instructions before using the candle pot.
- Do not touch the heated surface of the candle pot.
- To protect against electrical shock do not immerse power cord, plugs into water or other liquids.
- To prevent injuries or burns, do not insert your hand into the candle pot when it is operating.
- Always wear protective clothing, gloves, and suitable eye protection when using the candle pots.
- Close supervision is necessary when any electrical candle pot is used in the laboratory or commercial environment.
- If a person decides to use the candle melting equipment in their home, a commercial environment must be established in the home. ALL the local fire and electrical codes must be observed and inspected by the local fire Marshall.
- PERSONS WHO DO NOT FOLLOW THE ELECTRICAL CODE, FIRE CODE, AND THE CODE FOR A COMMERCIAL ENVIRONMENT, DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK.
- Unplug the candle pot from the wall outlet after use and before cleaning.
- The lid to the candle pot must be on at all times except when adding more material to the tank.
- Do not operate any candle pot with a damaged power cord, or plug, after the candle pot malfunctions, or after the candle pot has been damaged in any manner.
- Do not use the candle pot outdoors.
- Do not let the candle pot's power cord hang over the edge of a table or counter.
- Do not place the candle pot on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
- Extreme caution must be used when moving a candle pot filled with hot candle wax.
- When using an extension cord, always attach the plug to the candle pot cord and then plug the cord into the outlet. To disconnect, unplug the unit from the wall outlet.
- All flammable materials EXTERNAL to the candle pot must be removed from within 3 feet of the candle pot before the unit is plugged into the wall outlet for operation.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR LATER USE
This unit has a short power-supply cord to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. An extension cord may be used if you are careful in its use. IF a longer detachable power supply cord or extension cord is used, (1) the marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and (2) the cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop, or table top or industrial hood or where it can be pulled on by children, inexperienced personnel or tripped over accidentally. The candle pot is of the grounded type, the extension should be a grounding type 3-wire cord. The power cord must be kept dry and must not be bent or have anything put on top of it.
To reduce the hazard of potential shock, the candle pot has a grounded 3-prong plug. The use of a 3-2 prong electrical adapter where (one blade is wider than the other), which will fit only one way in a polarized outlet with the ground being properly connected. If the plug does not fit the outlet properly, turn the plug the other way, if it does not fit, contact a qualified electrician for assistance. Never use this plug with an extension cord unless it fits properly. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DEFEAT THIS SAFETY FEATURE.
SAFETY AND ENJOYMENT TIPS
- The top portions of the candle pot become extremely hot during operation. Always use protective gloves and eye protection when using the candle tank.
- Do not operate the candle tank on the same circuit as other high voltage equipment with high ampere loads.
- Position the candle pot at least 4 inches from the front of the counter or working surface. Do not place any flammable materials or objects on top of the appliance when plugged in or during operation.
- Do not use the candle pot near any electrical equipment like radios. TVs, or poor reception may occur.
- Always use the candle pot on a clean dry work surface away from exposed elements, direct sunlight or other sources of heat and cold.
- Only use the candle pot on a non-flammable work surface or counter. Never use on floor or on carpeting or on top of any cloth objects like table cloths, or place mats.
- Never stick your hand or any kitchen utensils into the candle pot during operation.
- Do not use any accessories or attachments not included or recommended by the manufacturer.
- For the large tanks, set the thermostat to the desired temperature of operation. The manual reset thermostat (one with the red button) should be set at 50 degrees F. above the automatic thermostat setting.
- Do not attempt to tamper with or make any adjustments to the electrical components or parts.
- Do not use this candle pot other than for its intended use.
